Command & Conquer: Renegade is a 3D first-person shooter based on the iconic strategy game series from Westwood. If you've played any of these strategy games, you'll undoubtedly find many similarities between these seemingly disparate projects: a real-time strategy game and a 3D first-person (and sometimes third-person) shooter. As you can imagine, you won't be fighting lone sentries, but a fully-fledged regular army—organized, disciplined, and operating according to its own rules. This alone hints at the possibility of various, truly special forces-style stunts, such as stealthy infiltration of bases and the elimination of sentries... although a knife isn't listed as a weapon... Too bad. One problem: the enemies also seem to think a little, which means they'll behave accordingly. The enemy will be very sensitive to the slightest violation of order, paying attention to foreign objects, and if you shoot someone right in front of a serene guard, you'll definitely be met with alarming shouts (by the way, the developers promise to take all the phrases from the first C&C), a complete combing of the area, and other punitive measures. However, a guard might not even call for help, but run with a first aid kit to help his comrade. "Hey, Bill, drunk again? Why does this always happen on my watch... er... ugh..."... That's where he deserves to be. The AI's cleverness will also lie in organizing group attacks, teamwork, and the ability to use the slightest cover for safety. But infantry is only half the battle. Hold on to whatever you can! All the vehicles from the original C&C will migrate to Renegade, and what's more, we'll be able to drive and fly any vehicle! And, just like in Halo, you don't necessarily have to be, say, the driver. Let your buddy pilot the Flame Tank while you roast everyone in sight.
