Stalk through a vast non-linear starship and sneak, subvert, and sabotage to survive in this stellar sandbox. You’re outnumbered, outgunned, and have no shoes. When insurance corporations want to keep valuables safe, they freeze you and stow you onto their cargo starships. Put the kiddo down for nap and immediately played nearly 2hrs. I can’t express with words just how much of a joy this game is to play and look at. It continues to layer new mechanics and new narrative threads in a deeply satisfying way, growing more complex and ambitious as you play. The soundtrack is amazing. Blendo really flexed their use of Id-tech and built such a vibrant and fun world. Mission immediately nail that “I gotta try that again” feel that the best im-sims have but with a whole lot more laughter in tow.And when space pirates board the starship and trip the silent alarm, you unthaw, take a deep breath, and handle the situation. Immersive sim comedy in a modified Doom 3 engine where you rescue cats and flush pirate heads down the toilet. Endlessly funny, tons of interactivity and emergence, and a touching story about corporate living, climbing out of a depression hole, and letting your friends love you.
